McKENZIE (January 2020) — Pottery Direct, a manufacturer of clay flowerpots, will open in mid-2020 in the McKenzie Airport Industrial Park-South. A new 40,000 square-foot building is complete and located west of the Rochelle Road, McKenzie.

McKENZIE (January 2020) — Cachengo, a manufacturer of computer components, begins operations later this month in the McKenzie South Industrial Park, where as many as 1,000 local employees in McKenzie and Huntingdon could be working within three years.

More than $9.6 million in grants for industrial site preparation
NASHVILLE – Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam and Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe announced today that 25 communities will receive more than $9.6 million in Site Development Grants. The Site Development Grant program is part of the larger Rural Economic Opportunity Act passed in 2016 and updated in 2017.

Grants and investments to assist communities with local infrastructure and safety
NASHVILLE – Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam and Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe recently approved nearly $25.5 million in Community Development Block Grants (CDBG), which assist communities with infrastructure improvements, health and safety initiatives and façade improvements in downtown commercial districts.
Manufacturer to invest $10 million to expand production capabilities in Weakley County.
NASHVILLE – Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam, Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe and MTD Consumer Group, Inc. officials announced today that the manufacturer will invest $10 million in its Martin operations over the next five years.
MTD is Weakley County’s largest private employer and a leading global manufacturer and distributor of residential and commercial outdoor power equipment under brands such as Cub Cadet and Troy-Bilt. The company plans to create 200 jobs in Weakley County as it adds production at the Martin facility.
“I’m very pleased to see MTD move ahead with this investment in Weakley County,” Haslam said. “Tennessee’s existing companies like MTD are the primary drivers of our state’s economic growth. MTD’s expansion is a strong vote of confidence in the people of Martin and another sign that Tennessee will lead in attracting quality jobs to our rural communities.”
MARTIN, Tenn. – Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam, Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe and Dong-A Hwa Sung Co., LTD. officials announced today that the company will locate its first U.S. operations, Dong-A USA, Inc., in Martin. The home appliance and automotive supplier will create approximately 220 jobs and invest $13 million in Weakley County, which represents the largest and only foreign direct investment in Weakley County’s history.
“Dong-A’s decision to locate its first U.S. facility in Weakley County and create more than 200 new jobs in Martin is another victory for our state,” Haslam said. “Tennessee continues to be a strong location for foreign direct investment, with more than 140,000 Tennesseans employed at foreign-owned companies. Because of significant investments like this, Tennessee will lead in the creation of high-quality jobs. I appreciate Dong-A for its investment in Weakley County and for its commitment to Tennessee.”
